The BFI and Noise of Art celebrate their new recording partnership and their
first release 'Piccadilly Nite Version 1' (to be released in early spring).
The launch party will take place at the BFI's new state of the art Southbank
complex and will feature the debut showing of the first audio video single
(to be released early spring) and a live performance using scenes from
'Piccadilly', EA Dupont's s classic film about London clubs in the 1920s.
The night will also featrue forthcoming Noise of Art/ BFI releases from two
other artist. The performance will be followed with an after party with more
DJ and live sets from the assembled artist.

With film from the BFI National Archive and live electronic music, Noise of
Art launches the first release from the new partnership between the BFI and
Noise of Art recordings. Inspired by EA Dupont's British 1920s night-life
classic 'Piccadilly', 'Piccadilly Nite Versions 1' sees a nu disco
soundtrack, by live eletronic act Les Hommes du Train, being set to a
re-edited short version of the 1929 film, with some unexpected results. For
the second debut of the night, acclaimed electronic producer Vector Lovers
will perform his new techno score to 'Day in the Life of a Coal Miner'
(filmed in 1910) for the first time. We're also pleased to welcome A Man
Called Adam back for a rare performance of their superb commissioned score
for 'Visit to Peek Frean and Co's Biscuit Works' (1906). Rounding things
off, Punx Soundcheck make their debut live performance, also revealing their
new AV partnership with Machines Are Gonna Kill Us; and finally Ben Osborne
and Overlap reveal their new live AV interpretation for the 'Piccadilly Nite
Versions' series. The screening will be followed by a club night with the
assembled acts DJing in the new Benugo Bar.

The film for the first single was shot in London clubs almost 100 years ago,
but the leading women could be going to an indie night in Camden. There's
posh clubs that could be central London celeb places and there's clubs
filled by a mixed crowd getting down and dancing on the tables. All the
usual stuff we expect from a 21st Century night out... including the disco
balls... but it's filmed in 1929! Admittedly the cosmic disco and techno is
a little different to the stuff they were dancing to then.

*About Noise Of Art*

Noise of Art celebrates the convergence of music and visual art brought
about by the digital age with events held in clubs, art galleries and
theatres; as well as non-traditional spaces. It is independent and works
with established electronic musicians and artists and introduces new talent.
Debut UK performances include introducing many of the Ed Banger roster from
Paris to the UK, as well as featuring established acts such as Coldcut, Fred
Deakin, Lemon Jelly and Laurent Garnier. Noise of Art is working with the
British Film Institute reworking film from the National Film Archive
(press/example copies of this work available on request). Noise of Art
events have been held across the UK and Europe.

"Turning the National Film Theatre into a riverside club and Tate Britain
into a two floor dancefloor music venue indicates just how ambitious the
organizers... are as they seek to represent the clash and synergy of visuals
and electronic music, silent films, live bands whatever interactive artworks
are when they're not posing on the dancefloor." *Time Out*

*"A* proper line-up of cutting edge electronic music… live bands and DJs
playing with films that range from 19th century reality TV, to mechanical
biscuit factories and early horror films. Serious beats. Ridiculous
fun" *Virtual
Festivals**.*
