Moby on Grandmaster Caz:
“My favorite guest is Grandmaster Caz, he was one of the
writers of Rappers Delight, he's been rapping since 1975, and
I'm really happy to have him on the record.
The way his rap came around is I sent him the track and I
thought he’d write something for it. He came into the
studio and he said, “OK, well play me the song. I guess he
hadn’t listened to it yet, so he sat down in front of the
speakers and in about 10 minutes had written out his rap. His
involvement from start to finish was about 45 minutes, I think
it sounds amazing. He’s got such a strong, nice, old school voice.”
