Lou Reed tonight (NYC)
Take a Walk on the Spiritual-Body Side
Lou Reed can sometimes be -- how shall we put this? -- a bit
prickly. But his latest album, "Hudson River Wind
Meditations," is anything but. Made for use in
"spiritual-body" workouts, it "reveals a softer, more
contemplative side," writes Amanda Petrusich. The songs
"are pulsing, spectral affairs that recall the compositions
of La Monte Young." Tonight he performs at Poisson Rouge
with his fellow prickly musician John Zorn. The tickets are
pricey -- $75 -- but you get double the downtown attitude for
your buck.
