Garage Music, São Paulo Style
The Brazilian group Garotas Suecas “has honed a slice of
garage-rock-influenced soul music of which the Daptone
folks should be jealous. (The White Stripes too),” writes
Jon Caramanica. Their songs feel like “they were casually
tossed off in between beer-fueled spins on the dance
floor.” Which may very well be true at Monday night’s free
show at Zebulon in Williamsburg.
