various, Tamla Motown Gold 3 CDs, Universal It has to be said that some CDs that come for review wend their way back out into the population pretty quickly. Not this one. It's packed with great songs that really stood the test of time. And, with three CDs there is a whole stack of them. My favourites from that time are the girl bands particularly when Phil Spector had a go at them - Martha and the Vandellas, Diana Ross and the Supremes. One of my personal favourite pop songs of all time is here too - Dancing in the Street; that's a Vandellas one. Also here are the Marvelettes, Mary Wells and Brenda Holloway. On the boy front there's Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, The Four Tops, Stevie Wonder - the list goes on. This stuff should be played out more. (Dr Boots)Back to reviews page
